Overview

Looking for analyst who:

  1. Can assess operational and compliance risks, test and develop control reporting, and investigate issues to ensure compliance with governmental regulations, contracts, policies, standards and procedures.
  2. Has the skill set to mine and pull complex datasets to identify control gaps
  3. Has the business intelligence to interpret the data and analyze for trends, correlations, and other key characteristics
  4. Compile, package, and present impactful information to internal leadership, internal and external auditors, and regulatory examiners

Responsibilities

  1. Commit to Performance Based Organization (PBO) & Easy to Do Business with (ETDBW) philosophy.
  2. Review, maintain best knowledge and educate others on applicable government regulations and industry best practices as well as contractual terms with Nelnet clients.
  3. Develop monitoring reporting for compliance with consumer protection laws, regulations, corporate policies, and business line standards, procedures and guidelines.
  4. Perform operational risk analyses, create review scope and test controls to ensure compliance and identify risks that could keep Nelnet and its business lines from meeting defined objectives.
  5. Provide strategic recommendations for improving our systems and processes.
  6. Interact with all levels of the Nelnet leadership team to facilitate compliance/controls analysis requirements and control reporting needs.
  7. Analyze data for trends, correlations, and other key characteristics, and report findings.
  8. Develop ad-hoc and recurring reports to meet business needs.
  9. Develop and maintain knowledge of latest trends and best practices of CPI.
  10. Create presentations and present to internal Nelnet and external entities

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

4-year college degree required

 

EXPERIENCE:

  1. 5 years of data analytics and/or risk/compliance analytics with proven track record of experience matching the summary above. Preferable to see examples or published work.
  2. Experience in evaluating, interpreting, and communicating laws and regulations strongly preferred

  4. Technical skill-setExperience with data access language(s) (Microsoft SQL Server, IBM Netezza )
  5. Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, charts and Pivot Tables
  6. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  7. Ability to conceptualize and analyze complex business processes.
  8. Negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills.
  9. Ability to define and achieve business goals and deadlines while working both independently & collaboratively.
  10. Strong organization skills.
  11. Customer focused philosophy.
  12. Ability to meet and manage customer expectations in a professional and timely manner.
