Overview

Installation Technician I will be the primary face to face contact with our customers. They will provide extraordinary customer service and will also have the capability to route wires and work with equipment related to residential and business communications on an all-fiber network.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  1. Prepare various types of cables
  2. Install various types of splice closures
  3. Field polish connectors
  4. Single fiber splicing
  5. Competently operate a light source and power meter
  6. Knowledge to identify different types of equipment such as telephone systems, fax machines, IP related equipment, set top boxes, wireless routers, network switches and ensure functionality of all equipment.
  7. Capability to maintain and inspect equipment at installation and troubleshoot effectively to quickly correct problems with service
  8. Ensure that all cables and cable accessories required for television, internet, and phone are working properly and are in good working condition

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Provide extraordinary customer service and an excellent customer experience
  2. Prompt attendance to work and scheduled job sites
  3. Obtaining and maintaining ALLO Communications required tool supply
  4. Safe handling of all products
  5. Accurate paperwork (time sheets, change orders, delivery tickets)
  6. On-call rotations once trained to a competent level
  7. Ability to QA/QC installs performed by peers and relay information succinctly
  8. Effectively communicate with subscriber and organization when working advanced troubles
  9. MDU/MTU fiber optic installations
  10. Understand the basics of network routing protocols

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Associates degree or 2-4 years’ equivalent work experience

 

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Ability to learn and grasp new concepts on the job
  2. Clean MVR to drive ALLO Communications vehicles
  3. Ability to work evenings and weekends

 

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  1. General Knowledge of Microsoft OS
  2. Ability to troubleshoot and work through problems in a logical manner
  3. Understanding of email clients and how to configure them
  4. Experience in wire fishing and pulling
  5. No fear of heights or tight spaces
  6. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  7. Able to identify version of windows, email client, and internet browser, and ability to run basic Windows and Apple commands
  8. Knowledge and ability to work with power tools
  9. Flexible, innovative and growth-oriented
  10. Time management and organizational skills
  11. Knowledge of telecommunications color code
  12. Capability of being part of a team and working closely with other team members
