Overview

The Inside Sales Representative’s primary focus is to either retain or re-establish relationships with existing customers and to acquire new customers through a consultative sales and relationship building approach, using excellent customer service. This position has minimal travel with most communication occurring via phone, e-mail, internet-based seminars/meetings, etc. and has interaction across all markets and products/services within Nelnet Business Solutions. This particular position will focus on selling ClassBundl supplies and apparel to private/faith-based and public/charter schools. 

Responsibilities

  1. Cold call and generate qualified sales leads.
  2. Track and manage inside sales activities using Salesforce CRM.
  3. Close deals in a highly competitive, consultative selling environment.
  4. Provide expertise and advice to potential prospects and current customers regarding product and service offerings.
  5. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on new business initiatives.
  6. Create proposals for targeted prospects or existing customers.
  7. Drive initiatives to former customer segments as well as current customer segments.
  8. Conduct effective contract, price and service delivery negotiations.
  9. Use Salesforce CRM to maintain records of contacts, accounts, leads, opportunities, updating, and report generation.
  10. Up-sell to existing customers through education and providing additional product knowledge of software and services or new products and services.
  11. Share information gathered from current and prospect customers as to needs, issues, and ideas to improve current products/services or to assist in potentially developing new products/services.
  12. Maintain understanding of market conditions/trends, competitor services as well as internal knowledge of services/products.
  13. Forecast and prepare sales plans to achieve sales goals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, marketing or a related field or a combination of education and related experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  1. 1-3 years inside sales or customer relations/account management experience.
  2. Experience effectively generating sales leads via the phone.
  3. Proven track record of achieving sales goals within an inside sales environment.
  4. Customer service and call center experience a plus.
  5. Experience presenting via the web and in-person to both small and large groups.
  6. Experience in education or payment industry sales (particularly with technology and service sales) a plus.

  10. Ability to build a strong pipeline, close new business and expand relationships with new and existing customers.
  11. Strong computer skills including sales management/data management software, presentation software, web hosting applications, and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  12. Technical, with the ability to rapidly learn and understand new technologies.
  13. Creative decision making and analytical skills with the proven ability to think on feet and arrive at solutions.
  14. Strong follow-up skills and accuracy.
