Overview

As a Program Manager, this position will work closely with multiple groups across Nelnet and with partner clients, potential clients, and external organizations. This person will be responsible to outline projects with stakeholders, define project goals and risks to execution, gather comprehensive requirements and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle, including clearly communicating status, risks and remediation plans to executive stakeholders. You will enable effectiveness in controls and productivity by providing your direct insights, plans, process and tools to deliver cross-functional initiatives at scale. You will counsel leadership to staff and assist with input to P&L goals (financials/budgeting/planning), and drive efficiencies. This role will actively participate as a leadership member contributing to the growth of Nelnet.  This position is the primary contact in working with Firstmark Services in coordinating vendor/client programs related to customer interaction, servicing and collections activities.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage and direct student loan program changes throughout loan services.
  2. Represent and maximize opportunities for business and relationship development with the external partners and other clients as required.
  3. Ability to communicate and represent Nelnet on calls and in meetings with external clients, potential clients, and other Industry peers/partners.
  4. Lead and coordinate staff activities to meet production goals. Maintain capacity planning and forecast project staffing to ensure goals are met within deadlines.
  5. Apply thorough understanding of business systems and processes to ensure appropriate levels of quality controls and department standards are within industry requirements.
  6. Partner with Business Development as well as Business stakeholders for new and potential business.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in business or a related area preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3-5 years business experience in leadership and operational program management

Preferred:

  1. Financial and analytical skills both at a strategic and functional level.
  2. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  3. Facilitation Skills

  1. Ability to work well with cross functional teams.
  2. Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  3. Ability to think strategically and respond tactically in a fast pace environment.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  5. Strong problem solving skills.
