  • Overview

    Pathway Interns work directly as a functioning member of multiple teams within Nelnet. As an intern, you will take a semester-long journey throughout our company to gain understanding of how a variety of business departments operate. These areas include:


    • Ufi Private/Consumer Loans
    • Internal Audit
    • People Services (HR)
    • Nelnet Business Solutions Accounting
    • Innovation - Startups
    • Corporate Innovation
    • FUSE 
    • Marketing
    • Global Training
    • ClassBundl Corporate (a Nelnet startup fulfillment company)
    • Business Operations
    • Nelnet Business Solutions Product Development


    You must be entering your sophomore or junior year this fall to be considered for this position.


    1. Support department projects.
    2. Research new topics and develop department materials.
    3. Special projects or other duties as assigned.
    4. Attend company orientation and development classes as applicable.
    5. Meet and interact with Nelnet employees at a variety of levels.
    6. Participate in department team-building activities.
    7. Collaborate internally with employees and departments to accomplish work projects.



    1. Pursuing degree
    2. Major required in a field appropriate to the intern opening



    Knowledge of computers: preferably Microsoft packages and familiarity with Internet including ability to use search engines.
