  • Overview

    Works with the Marketing Communications Sr. Manager and others to develop and implement communications strategies and branding activities for Client Services’ customers.  Responsible for delivering key, strategic, and consistent messages across print, electronic, online, multimedia, and social media platforms to target client audiences. Supports strategies and executes tactics to raise rates of client acquisition, retention, and cross/up-selling. Coordinates with sales, client relations, and other business leaders on development of business proposals and other client communications.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provides input and implements marketing communications strategy plan with Communications team and other members of Client Services leadership team
    2. Creates marketing collateral, website content, social media, business proposals, and written communication for Client Services customer channels
    3. Acts as project manager on proposal and RFP response development for NDS business opportunities
    4. Manages Nelnet and Client Portal pages, SharePoint team sites, and other internal communication platforms for Client Services
    5. Helps launch new products and services and conducts competitive research
    6. Promotes and upholds Nelnet brand image in all communications and events
    7. Coordinates and attends industry conferences, trade shows, and other events to assist in promotion of brand and services
    8. Participates in brainstorming sessions, campaign development, and creative projects
    9. Maintains knowledge of creative trends and best practices
    10. Stays abreast of student loan servicing environment, competition, and strategy
    11. Assists Marketing Communications Sr. Manager in critical projects as needed

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor’s degree in marketing, English, Journalism or related field or commensurate experience.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    1. Minimum of 3 years experience in marketing or sales.
    2. Minimum of 3 years management or leadership experience.
    3. Higher education and/or student loan experience preferred.

    7. Familiarity with Windows, HTML, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Word Press, and social media platforms.
