  • Overview

    This position is open to entry- and mid-level individuals searching for a challenging career opportunity in the growing world of Communications. Individuals will assist with the installation of structured cabling of both copper and fiber optic.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    1. Communicate effectively with customers, Project Managers and team members.
    2. Build out data closets and equipment rooms.
    3. Test, troubleshoot, and document test results for copper cabling and fiber utilizing industry standardized testers.
    4. Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, data racks, patch panels, etc).
    5. Install, terminate, test, label and document low voltage cabling infrastructure.
    6. Dress and route cable into data closets and work areas.
    7. Install, terminate and test low voltage cables & fiber optic cables.
    8. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
    9. Honest, reliable and good work ethic.
    10. Ability to understand and install a structured cabling system including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross and inter-connections, and testing. This includes understanding applicable codes, standards, and industry-best practices.
    11. Ability to listen carefully and follow instructions
    12. High attention to detail

    16. Demonstrate team work

    21. MDU/MTU fiber optic installations
    22. Ability & willingness to travel

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent
    2. Associates degree or 2-4 years’ equivalent work experience

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    1. Ability to learn and grasp new concepts on the job
    2. Clean MVR to drive ALLO Communications vehicles
    3. Ability to work evenings and weekends

     

    COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

    1. General Knowledge of Microsoft OS
    2. Ability to troubleshoot and work through problems in a logical manner
    3. Experience in wire fishing and pulling
    4. No fear of heights or tight spaces
    5. Ability to lift 50 lbs
    6. Knowledge and ability to work with power tools
    7. Flexible, innovative and growth-oriented
    8. Time management and organizational skills
    9. Capability of being part of a team and working closely with other team members
    10. Ability & willingness to travel
