    This position is responsible for reporting on application processing operations for Nelnet Business Solutions as well as helping implement new technologies that are introduced to improve job flows at NBS.  This includes developing criteria and reporting on how well NBS services meet Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) surrounding the processing done for both staff and external customers.   This position works closely with team leads to document resource needs of current batch processing job streams as well as to analyze needs of job streams being planned for.  FACTS-NBS (Enterprise, QuikPay, and Renweb) processing jobs are reported on.  This position will work closely with the primary NBS Computer Operator to insure job streams are utilizing technologies that facilitate accountability and accuracy as well as efficiency.  Some reports will be passed on to auditors for verification that operations are being performed according to policy.  This position will also perform Computer Operations in a backup capacity for the primary NBS Computer Operator.

    Responsibilities

    1. Be on call after hours and weekends to support NBS processing and deployments.
    2. Report on SLA’s for application processes of FACTS-NBS as well as jobs for other clients as needed.
    3. Help data entry report on statistical information to analyze work flows.
    4. Provide uptime reporting on computer services that are associated with batch and online processing.
    5. Network Operations Center (NOC) tasks - Assist CompOps, Network Support, Tech Support, DBA’s and Web admins in reporting on system / network / application / database / web services status and ticket resolution.
    6. Review long term job flows shown in job calendars, job schedules and job log sheets to look of ways to improve reporting methods and efficiencies.
    7. Help with the creation and updating of processing documentation.
    8. Assist in carrying out and reporting on backup and high availability processes.
    9. Work with all departments to gather information and report on various work flows.
    10. Accurate, timely (on or before deadline promise date) completion of work according to specifications
    11. Assisting personnel inside and outside of the department with assignments as requested.
    12. Perform in the capacity of a project manager for some projects in Computer/Technical Operations. Coordinating and seeing through the implementation of changes that are shown to need implementation.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    Associate Degree in computer related field or equivalent work experience (Four year degree preferred). 

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    A basic understanding of accounting and familiarity with computerized accounting programs.  Experience and understanding of bank transaction file processing, including regulations, reporting, etc., sufficient to analyze work flows surrounding such applications.   Experience using computer based reporting, scheduling, monitoring and alerting software programs.

    1. Ability to work in a fast-paced/hectic environment. Ability to create reports that convey needed detail yet show overall trends that can help analyze job streams at from both a short-term, detailed aspect as well as with a view for the long-term.
    2. Ability to prioritize and multi-task, handling several important priorities with competing deadlines. Requires ability to handle pressure and communicate to individuals with varied opinions about the topic being discussed in a group setting.
    3. High attention to detail and accuracy, especially when working under time pressures.
    4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    5. Must be able to work with confidential information in a responsible manner.
    6. Interact professionally with other employees, working effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
