  • Overview

    This position is open to individuals searching for a challenging career opportunity in the growing world of Communications. Individuals will assist with the installation of structured cabling of both copper and fiber optic in conduit, cabling tray and other pathway.

    Responsibilities

    1. Communicate effectively with customers, Project Managers and team members.
    2. Test, troubleshoot, and document test results for copper cabling and fiber utilizing industry standardized testers.
    3. Install, terminate, test, label and document network cables and cabling infrastructure.
    4. Dress and route cable into data closets and work areas.
    5. Install, terminate and test network cables & fiber optic cables.
    6. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
    7. Honest, reliable and good work ethic.
    8. Ability to understand and install a structured cabling system including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, and testing. This includes understanding applicable codes, standards, and industry-best practices.
    9. Ability to listen carefully and follow instructions, with high attention to detail. Exhibit a positive attitude and Ability to meet deadlines. Must be self-motivated with an excellent work ethic. Demonstrate team work. Prompt attendance to work and scheduled job sites
    10. Obtaining and maintaining ALLO Communications required tool supply
    11. Safe handling of all products
    12. Accurate paperwork
    13. MDU/MTU fiber optic installations
    14. Ability & willingness to travel

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    1. Ability to learn and grasp new concepts on the job
    2. Clean MVR to drive ALLO Communications vehicles
    3. Ability to work weekends

     

    COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

    1. Basic of Microsoft OS 
    2. Ability to troubleshoot and work through problems in a logical manner
    3. Experience in wire fishing and pulling
    4. Comfortable working with heights and/or tight spaces 
    5. Ability to lift 50 lbs
    6. Knowledge and ability to work with power tools
    7. Flexible, innovative and growth-oriented
    8. Time management and organizational skills
