  • Overview

    Responsible for developing enterprise wide test automation solutions across mainframe, client-server and web technologies.  Works in a shared services role closely with IT Software Engineers, Architects and IT Business Analysts across multiple Scrum teams.

    Responsibilities

    1. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates testing needs across teams.
    2. Identifies test scenarios, develops automated test scripts, and creates expected results for use in test cycles.
    3. Modifies and maintains automated tests as systems and development team needs change.
    4. Create tests in such a way that test runs and test results can be tracked and reported.
    5. Summarizes and communicates testing outcomes in meaningful ways.
    6. Collaborates with clients and other technical teams as needed.
    7. Adhere to Best Practices and Standards in the areas of technology and security.
    8. Keep abreast of advancements and changes in technology and develop an understanding of how new technologies can be leveraged.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or commensurate experience.

     

    EXPERIENCE:                              

    Minimum 3 years experience in a software development environment with strong skills in at least one key competency.

     

    COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

    1. Experience designing, developing and executing reusable and maintainable automated scripts.
    2. Test automation development skills - not just record and playback - within an automation framework a must (ie CodedUI, Page Object Model).
    3. Experience with CodedUI and/or C#.  Background creating automated regression suites that run in cross-browser environment.
    4. Previous exposure to page object design patterns highly desired.
    5. Experience working with Microsoft Team Foundation Server\ Visual Studio \ Microsoft Test Manager.
    6. Familiar with VMware Server/Desktop Virtualization.
    7. Experience automating test runs as part of Microsoft TFS builds.
    8. Basic database/SQL test experience.
    9. Performance and Load Testing experience a plus.
    10. Experience testing REST-based API and Web Services Testing a plus.
    11. Candidate must be comfortable operating in a consultative role within the organization (strong collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills).
    12. Works towards solving complex problems independently and generate solutions to recurring problems.
    13. Must be willing to take responsibility for resolving technical challenges impacting the department.
    14. Ability to conduct peer code reviews and mentor peers.
    15. Identify opportunities to improve maintainability and execution speed of automation platform.
    16. Strong analytical skills to determine effective approaches to create test automation solutions.
    17. Experience with Agile and Lean (Scrum, XP, Kanban) and Continuous Integration/Development.
    18. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
    19. Strong consensus building, multi-tasking, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
    20. Ability to work with both technical staff and clients.
    21. Self-directed and highly motivated.
    22. Ability to obtain a security clearance.
